Bangladesh Fire Disaster

As the Federation of Associations that Value Humanity (IDDEF), we have launched emergency relief efforts following the major fire disaster that occurred in a neighborhood of Bangladesh’s capital, Dhaka, where approximately 8,000 impoverished people live. In the region where thousands of people were left homeless and more than 1,500 shelters and structures burned down or became unusable, we can help heal the wounds of our brothers and sisters together. Let us unite and rush to support our brothers and sisters who were left homeless by the fire.

The fire, which affected an area of approximately 65 hectares, turned into ashes a densely populated slum settlement where mostly refugees and 60,000 families reside. As of 2024, with a population of 10.2 million, hundreds of thousands of people who migrated from rural areas to Dhaka due to economic difficulties remain vulnerable to such disasters.

As IDDEF, together with our teams in the region, we continue to deliver emergency aid, food, hot meals, blankets, tents, emergency shelter support, and essential supplies to those affected. We extend our well wishes to the people of Bangladesh and, with your support, continue to bring hope to our brothers and sisters impacted by the fire.
