As the Federation of Associations that Value Humanity (IDDEF), we have launched emergency relief efforts for our brothers and sisters affected by the floods and landslides caused by heavy rainfall on Indonesia’s Sumatra Island. In the disaster zone—where the death toll has risen to 303 and treatment continues for more than 500 injured—search and rescue teams are working tirelessly under extremely difficult conditions.
The Indonesian Disaster Management Agency reported that thousands of homes and buildings were submerged, and railways, bridges, rice fields, livestock, and public infrastructure suffered severe damage. It is stated that thousands of families have been displaced, and northern Sumatra has been the hardest-hit region. There is growing concern that the number of casualties may increase, as many areas remain inaccessible due to damaged roads and ongoing flooding.
Our IDDEF field teams in the region are working around the clock to deliver emergency food supplies, hot meals, clean water, blankets, tents, temporary shelter support, and essential aid materials to those affected by the floods.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the people of Indonesia and, with the support of our valued donors, continue to bring hope to families impacted by this disaster.
