In Gaza, where the occupying Israeli forces are committing genocide and trying to starve the population by depriving them of basic human necessities, access to essential food sources remains a constant need.
To help meet this need, we will deliver meat from Qurbani sacrifices as canned goods to our Palestinian brothers and sisters during Eid al-Adha.
A photo from the Gaza Qurban Project we did last year
Last year, under our Wajib Qurbani organization, sacrificial animals slaughtered outside of Gaza were frozen and transported to Gaza via refrigerated storage through Jordan and Egypt. We aim to implement a similar process in this year’s Qurbani organization as well.
Since October 7, 2023, as the occupying Israeli forces have continued their aerial and ground bombardments of civilian areas, we have been conducting intensive emergency aid operations to provide food, medicine, fuel, blankets, and essential supplies to Palestinian families struggling to survive.
During Eid al-Adha, through our "Qurbani for Gaza" project, the beef sacrifices will be canned and delivered to our oppressed brothers and sisters in Gaza.
As our brothers and sisters endure the most difficult days in their history and are displaced by relentless attacks, we will prepare and deliver canned Qurbani meat to Gaza through Jordan and Egypt during Eid al-Adha.
By donating your cattle share for Gaza, you can bring joy to the hearts of those facing one of the greatest atrocities of modern times and contribute to their happiness around their scarce dining tables.
Those who wish to stand with Gaza during Eid al-Adha are responding to one of the most urgent needs. The cost of one cattle share for Gaza through IDDEF is $250.
You can make your donations through our website: www.iddef.org/en
Qurban sacrifices are completed by the third day of Eid, after which the meat is processed into canned goods and distributed to those in need.
The goal of this project is to ensure that sacrificial meat reaches our needy brothers and sisters in regions where the Wajib Qurban cannot be performed locally.
Considering the conditions in Gaza — the drought of livestock, the breakdown of infrastructure, and the constant lack of access to food — canned meat becomes a practical and vital solution.
The ongoing genocide over the past two years has severely impacted agriculture and livestock sectors in Gaza, causing serious harm to both food security and livelihoods.
