Qurban Al-Nadhr - Small Cattle

A sacrifice (qurban) is one of the ways we express our gratitude to Allah (SWT), and a nadr sacrifice is a special type among them. If you have made a vow to offer a sacrificial animal, we step in to help you fulfill it by delivering your offering to those in need. By appointing us as your proxy, you can have your small livestock sacrifice carried out on your behalf.

Note: Your sacrifice will be performed within 3 days, and a video link of the sacrifice will be sent via SMS to your registered mobile number. You can also watch or download the video from the “My Donations” section after logging in to our website, iddef.org/en.

Where Do We Perform Your Nadr Sacrifices?

We carry out votive sacrifices throughout the year in regions across Africa, Asia, and the Balkans. Your donated sacrifices are primarily distributed to students in our madrasahs and to impoverished families. We ensure your sacrifice is performed within 3 days and delivered to those in need. Once completed, we notify you via SMS (or WhatsApp message) and provide a video of the sacrifice, which you can download to your phone or computer if desired.

What is a Nadr Sacrifice?

A nadr sacrifice is a promise made to Allah (SWT). It involves voluntarily making a commitment to perform a religious duty—such as offering a sacrifice—that is not otherwise obligatory. The Qur’an commands us to fulfill our promises and remain true to our commitments. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also emphasized that vows made to Allah must be honored. It is important to note that the person who makes the vow, as well as their parents, grandparents, children, and grandchildren, are not permitted to consume the meat of a nadr sacrifice.

When should a Nadr Sacrifice be Performed?

The key issue is the “condition” attached to the vow. If the sacrifice is conditional on a specific event, it must be fulfilled as soon as the condition is met. If the vow is unconditional, it can be performed at any time, but preferably as soon as the individual has the means to do so. Delivering the meat of the sacrifice to those in need brings peace and joy to us all.
