The Federation of Associations that Value Humanity (IDDEF) provides food assistance to Syrian refugees returning from Turkey and Lebanon and to those in dire need living in Aleppo and Hama following the fall of the Assad regime.
With teams working day and night in the region, IDDEF conducts bread distributions in Aleppo and Hama, tirelessly supporting the oppressed and vulnerable Syrian people.
Since the start of the Syrian civil war in 2011, IDDEF has consistently supported the Syrian people with humanitarian and educational aid. In a statement, IDDEF shared:
“As part of our Islamic brotherhood in Syria, we have tirelessly continued our partnership through humanitarian aid, education, and development efforts alongside the freedom struggle that began in 2011.
Recent developments bring hope as the Syrian people move closer to freedom, despite years of hardship. We share the joy of our oppressed brothers and sisters and pray for an end to the oppression, suffering, and tears in our region.
With your prayers and support, we will continue to stand by the oppressed as we have in the past, today, and in the future.”
On November 27, clashes intensified between opposition armed groups and Bashar al-Assad’s forces. By December 7, opposition groups had gained control of major cities such as Aleppo, Idlib, Hama, and Homs.
As opposition forces began entering the capital Damascus on December 7, popular support for these groups caused the regime to lose control entirely, resulting in its collapse. The 61-year reign of the Baath Party ended, and Assad fled the capital.
Meanwhile, on the first day of the Operation Dawn of Freedom launched in December, the Syrian National Army liberated Tel Rifaat from the terrorist group PKK/YPG. With the liberation of Manbij, the largest terrorist stronghold west of the Euphrates River was cleared of PKK/YPG forces.
