Following the major earthquake that struck eastern Afghanistan on August 31, 2025, the Federation of Associations that Value Humanity (IDDEF) immediately mobilized to heal the wounds of the affected citizens and has been actively continuing its relief efforts on the ground since the very first moment.

Right after the earthquake, IDDEF teams reached the area and began emergency relief activities to meet urgent needs. In the first stage, 200 tents of 16 square meters were set up, providing safe shelter for 2,000 survivors. In addition, 24 tons of food supplies were delivered, 48,000 hot meals were distributed, and 800 blankets were provided to help people cope with the cold weather conditions.

In a statement, IDDEF said: “Since the first day of the earthquake in Afghanistan’s eastern Kunar province, our teams have been on the ground. In the early days, we participated in search and rescue as well as burial operations, while also delivering hot meals to the affected areas. We later provided food and shelter support to families settled in tent villages. Our teams continue to deliver aid and essential supplies to the region. We are intensifying our efforts since more aid will be needed with the approaching winter months. Once again, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the people of Afghanistan affected by this devastating earthquake, pray for God’s mercy on those who lost their lives, and wish a speedy recovery for the injured.”
