The Federation of Associations that Value Humanity (IDDEF) is once again this year gifting stationery sets — including bags, notebooks, pencils, erasers, and sharpeners — to underprivileged students who receive free education at its madrasas in Africa, Asia, the Balkans, and the Middle East, along with clothing support at the beginning of the academic year. Through the “Be a Pen for Knowledge” education project, donors bring hope to children in oppressed and impoverished lands with a donation of 1,250 TL, making 550 students smile in the first stage.

In a statement made by IDDEF, it was said: “We continue our educational activities determinedly in 55 countries, with over 400 teachers serving in 100 educational centers and 55 madrasas, reaching more than 12,000 students. While doing so, we strengthen access to knowledge and education for children and youth living in regions struggling with poverty and humanitarian crises. In this context, as in previous years, we are once again gifting school sets to our underprivileged brothers and sisters. We distributed school bags and clothing containing items such as pencils, erasers, notebooks, rulers, and sharpeners to children across Africa, Asia, the Balkans, and the Middle East. With the support of our donors, we have so far enabled 550 students to begin their education fully equipped and with joy.”

The statement also drew attention to the global education crisis, saying:
“Education is a fundamental human right that all people should be able to access easily and fairly. However, millions of children and young people today are deprived of this right. Around the world, nearly 250 million children and youth between the ages of 6 and 18 cannot attend school. In Sub-Saharan Africa alone, approximately 100 million children lack access to education. Especially in the African continent, where it is difficult and costly to obtain school supplies, these items meet students’ most essential needs and give them the opportunity to look to the future with hope.”
